As we have more information, it will be added here.
Packing lists, Itinerary, Roommates, etc
Yes! You can book yourself a room, and most likely we can arrange for you to stay in that room for the duration of the trip. After you book, please email Alyson your details, and we will can give it to our reservation specialist.
As a whole, Alyson will be the head chaperone for children traveling without their parent. We will divide up into smaller chaperone groups for our daily travel- with parents taking the lead in each group. These groups will be decided upon in advance, but there will be some flexibility during the trip. Alyson will be monitoring any medication administration, and curfew. Any behavioral issues will be reported to the trip directors.
For the majority, players will be matched with someone from their team, or their age group. If their parents are also traveling, many will be rooming with their parents. In most cases, everyone will be staying 2 to a room, and in the case of families, they will get a family room that sleeps up to 4.
We won't release the full itinerary until much closer to the trip. Planning games and trainings this far in advance can be tricky, and schedules can change even the week prior to the trip. We will however let you know what we will be doing in advance, so you have ample time to make any arrangements for your personal time.
YES! You will have at least one chunk of time to explore on your own (families), or in chaperone groups (based on interests). Last year we had one group who wanted to see Harry Potter, so they planned that on their own, while another group went to the British Museum, and then other smaller groups went shopping, or explored areas of London we couldn't get to as a large group. We will make sure to give everyone advance notice about what we have planned, and what day you will have free so you can make any booking arrangements that you need to.
This may depend on the day, or the activities we have planned. If you are on the trip as a parent chaperone, we might actually need you to stay and help some of the time. The trip directors will let parents know when they are not needed as chaperones, and in those cases you can take the time to yourself.
You do have the right to leave with your child at any time, but please always let us know when you are leaving, so we know we didn't lose you in London somewhere. ;) We do want you to have the best time, so please communicate with us if you have any questions about this.
